The entire counter-culture was created by feds, spooks, social engineers, etc. There was a legitimate anti-war movement, but it got co-opted by the "hippie movement", which took people down paths of self-absorbed hedonism, drug abuse (masquerading as "enlightenment" through the use of LSD), and lifestyles that led to the breakup of traditional families and communities.
