How to rip streaming vids?

There was this extension called AntVideo that used to be the shit. Any time a video started playing you could just press the button and it would save the whole thing as an FLV or MP4 file. Worked on any site. At some point it got turned into some shitty spam program and doesn't work like it used to. What are some a them other ways to rip streaming video we got?

You can use youtube-dl for some streaming services. Or you can just OBS and screen capture it.
