Samuel L is not a good actor. If the role isn’t written specifically for him (like Tarantino does), it’s just Samuel L Jackson in whatever movie it is. Star Wars? Oh, it’s Samuel L Jackson with a lightsaber! Can he act? Yes, but the director has to cater specifically to make him good. The only thing I disagree with about that is that it implies they have any talent at all, as if acting is this rare specialist skill only few people can master.
