A lot of audiobooks I wanted weren't available on the torrent sites so I made a bunch of free audible accounts and used the free trials. Then I used Audible downloaders to rip them. Every new credit card and email address I could get a free audiobook. I'm always happy to steal from Amazon because for two years I got messages like "You bought 'Napoleon - Le soleil d'Austerlitz', you might like Michelle Obama's Becoming". I ended up having to add Obama keywords to uBlock.

Yeah I’ve been downloading books from audiobookbay for almost 10 years and have never had an issue, and since you’re wanting to listen on your iPhone, a lot of the newer titles and uploads are in the M4A format.
There is another site called www.mobilism.org that I’ve been using for just as long. It’s also free to sign up but you have to have a paid subscription if you want faster/multiple downloads. They don’t always have the audio formats of books available as they have e-book versions too. If using the free option, It’s like old school downloads using rapidgator wher you have to wait 2 hours between each download and I think 4 downloads allowed a day.
