This series got mother fucked by COVID.

It had a really strong first season, and it ended in a cliffhanger where Danny McBride's character ended up following his estranged son to some missionary camp in a foreign country. Strong set up for a second season.

Then COVID happened, the 2nd season was delayed, and all those storylines were abandoned. When the show returned, father and son were back in America with like a one sentence explanation, and the show was weaker. And, of course, the one brother turned out gay.

Based on the trailers it looks like a plot line this season will be people boycotting the church cause of the gay brother. Great stuff for the final season of your show

That was basically a 40 minute Bradley Cooper cameo during the critical last season. Last season of Eastbound and Down was a big decline as well.
