"Felony Telephone Harassment"

Out of curiosity, I looked up harassment laws in Wisconsin. It appears that Legal Expert Pat is making up laws when he claims that we're committing "felony telephone harassment."

The highest degree of text harassment in Wisconsin is a "Class B Misdemeanor." You can apparently threaten to hurt someone by text (which nobody here does) in Wisconsin and at worst, you'd be charged with a misdemeanor.

(2) Whoever does any of the following is guilty of a Class B misdemeanor:

(a) With intent to frighten, intimidate, threaten, abuse or harass another person, sends a message to the person on an electronic mail or other computerized communication system and in that message threatens to inflict injury or physical harm to any person or the property of any person.​

If he really does send snapshots of his texts to Milwaukee PD, they definitely have a good laugh whenever he cites "felony telephone harassment."

Edit: What we do barely constitutes this, and it's a "Class B Forfeiture" (aka violation/fine). Pat genuinely thinks that MPD is engaging in an interstate investigation to write people up for violations:

He likely did. The FBI telling him that “unless there’s a murder or $250,000 involved there’s nothing we can do” is something that the FBI would definitely say. I’m sure you can, it’s taxpayer funded so technically they work for the citizens. It probably just takes forever to get in touch with them if you don’t have established channels or relationships.

I have no doubt in my mind that some file is opened any time someone files a complaint or meets with an agent.

I can tell you that file, if one exists for us, will not prevent you from obtaining fully automatic weapons or obtaining a security clearance.
