He claims that we opened up credit cards in his name (foreshadowing for when there is a paper trail leading back to him for the self-swats). Aside from being an extremely illegal thing that nobody here would have any reason to do, it is something that is heavily investigated and traceable. It is essential that people maintain faith in the financial institutions, and they do not fuck around.

Does telegram require a text confirmation to complete registration? If "someone" signed up for a Tg account using his phone number and it requires a text confirmation, that's not possible. Unless he's insinuating someone cloned his SIM like we're in some spy thriller Tom Cruise movie from 2002

You can use a phone app # to register for Telegram. Not sure if that's considered VOIP. But I don't think it would be possible to reserve another person's exising phone number using one of those apps.

He knows nothing about tech or how it works. His experience boils down to twitter, gmail, wikipedia and using Word, and Zoom.

Case in point: if someone had access to his phone/email, you don't think his entire inbox would have been leaked somewhere? If a person is willing to somehow go to lengths to setup a crypto account and telegram and then set up some swats using that in a bid to frame pat, you don't think they wouldn't have done anything else? no social media hijacking, nothing.
The absolute last thing on anyone's mind would be constructing a convoluted scheme to try and frame rick for self swatting if they had access to his phone/email.
