I'm a huge fan of pre-Bethesda Fallout; I remember going to the mall with my older cousin to pick up the original and watching him play all weekend. The first forum I ever joined was No Mutants Allowed. Obviously the newer games aren't the same, but I've tried them and they're tolerable.
My point is, I'm a prime candidate to BROOD over this show but, y'know, it's ok. Amazon's heavy-handed use of the diversity brush actually works because the Fallout world is filled with rejects and otherwise odd looking people anyway. They use a lot of real props and practical effects too, so there's decent immersion. Obligatory fuck all modern media addendum.

You are the Slavic scum. I just rotated the board in a very unconventional move in chess only allowed in southern Ontario. Now I am white and you're black. We also have a move called kamikaze pawns where you can throw a pawn at the other person's pieces to knock them off the board. Unless it's the king. And the hidden bishop where you can prod your opponent with any bishop you take. Canadian chess is complicated. We are permanently banned from international competition.

There actually is a Russian game called "Shuher" where you flick or otherwise slide checkers pieces at each others to knock them off the board. It's the only fun you can have with a checkers set.
