I said this same thing in another thread. Plus besides everything you said he would pound hot dogs in the dugout between innings and drink beers right up to game time. I can't remember where bugmt last year I saw a video of him and Gehrig taking batting practice. There was no sound but you could see that despise his size and the body type his bat speed thru the zone was absolutely amazing. Plus it cracks me up anytime I see a video of him running so fast with his dumpy body and skinny legs.

Yeah I know Stump was largely full of shit. I think there was another writer too who pushed the racism angle, but it was based on falsehoods, and it seems Cobb was fine with integration. He was no choir boy but not a monster either.
