Basically he’s alleging they conspired to boost Kendrick’s song over his. I’m not sure why it seems to specifically be about the single song. Saying they “paid influencers to influence people” is odd and paying Apple to tweak the Siri response to requesting to play Drake’s album is hilarious.

Drake’s attorneys claim that UMG carried out its “scheme” in a variety of ways, including by charging Spotify vastly reduced licensing rates in exchange for the streamer recommending the song to users who had searched for “unrelated songs and artists.” They also claim UMG paid influencers to boost the song on social media and also hired armies of bots to fraudulently spike the numbers.

“UMG … conspired with and paid currently unknown parties to use ‘bots’ to artificially inflate the spread of ‘Not Like Us’ and deceive consumers into believing the song was more popular than it was in reality,” Drake’s lawyers write.

In one particularly eye-catching claim, the petition claims that UMG paid Apple to have its voice assistant feature Siri “purposely misdirect users” to Kendrick’s song.

“Online sources reported that when users asked Siri to play the album ‘Certified Lover Boy’ by [Drake], Siri instead played ‘Not Like Us,’ which contains the lyric ‘certified pedophile,’ an allegation against Drake,” the rapper’s lawyers write.

Kendrick definitely struck a chord.

I don't listen to either one's music, but how do you listen to a rapper who's really just an actor who played a wheelchair guy in a gay high school show. The music isn't even good right?

I never liked Drake’s music and his popularity baffles me. Kendrick thinks he’s some sort of black messiah but at least he’s made one good album in the past. They’re both faggots in their own ways.

I think Kendrick's voice really holds him back. It's hard to get over it. He's like the Bob Dylan of rap.
I don’t really have my finger on the pulse of rap anymore but I would imagine that he’s still one of the most famous rappers in the world.

Drake has very accessible music. Most of the stuff I've heard of his always has great production. I'm not a fan but I don't dislike most of what I have heard.

How drake got popular confuses me, I've never looked into it. Obviously he was already famous and is jewish, thst part makes sense. I just don't get what happened for him to be every white persons favorite rapper. Now thst he is that popular though I can see why he has maintained popularity. He's a good rapper and his production choices can be very cool, lots of good beat switches.

I'd say Danny Brown fits this more than Kendrick but he's definitely a close second.

Anyways yeah I don't get what Spotify would be sued for? Wouldn't their contract be with UMG and not drake, so if UMG and Spotify agree on something then what's the issue? I guess suing UMG itself would depend on his contract with them, some record contracts are insane and the label can just put the artist on a shelf and tell them to go fuck themselves.
