I have no idea. When I was younger, the "bobbies" you'd see in the street were actually vaguely worthy of respect. They were all men, they walked the streets not drove around, they were all a decent size (there used to be a minimum height requirement) and a lot of them were ex-military. Around the early 2000s, the Met (London police) started to change their hiring policy. You started to see a lot more women, short guys, fats, ethnics etc. University degrees became a requirement at one point. They stopped calling it a police "force" and changed it to police "service." They’re basically social workers who can arrest you now.
