I was in harlem the other day and walked all the way towards the end where the projects are past 140th and it wasn't bad at all.
Just a bunch of spades giving you a stink eye. Stopped by "famous" sylvias for bbq and it was just average.

I drove through Compton once and it wasn't even that bad. Some cities though, like Philadelphia, have some areas that seem legitimately coon'd beyond repair.

Yeah, I would try walking through New Orleans or Memphis or any other god-forsaken southern city that never recovered from the Civil War and let me know what you think.
I'm 6'2 and built like an outside linebacker and I got beaten to a bloody pulp just two months ago in New Orleans (this is the same trip where I broke my back falling in the shower, probably because I was concussed from the fight) by four jigs who were just posted up in front our AirBnB in the French Quarter blocking the door. I'd post photos of the damage but I'm not going to dox myself.

I never felt unsafe in Chicago or NY or any other major city (granted I haven't been through gangland in LA), but some places in the south are no-go zones for whites.

Back in the 80s when NYC was really bad my dad picked up the family from Greece and he got lost leaving the city and we ended up in the Bronx. The cops stopped us and said, "do you know where you are?" My dad said that we didn't know (it didn't look all that bad, all of NYC looked like shit to me anyhow)and the cop said we need to get out immediately and directed us to the highway to eventually get home.
I've been thru North Philly and parts of Camden and it looked like a war zone.
My father worked in Detroit in the 50s and loved it, never once complained about it and always looked upon Detroit fondly.

The hood I grew up in down in FLA was really dangerous. Even as a kid, you'd get rolled on by grown ass adults if you weren't careful. I saw a dude shot dead in the street a few blocks from my house when I was 12. I shared an alley with a trap house and mother fuckers used to shoot off guns in the back yard. Fuck the south. Even my nice neighborhood down here sucks. I'm trying to get out in 2023.

One time in the early 2000s I went to a Nascar race with my dad at the Michigan speedway. He got us lost in Detroit on the way and it was fucked. Every single window boarded up, everything broken and dirty, shitty graffiti everywhere. It looked like post apocalypse shit. The only people we saw outside the whole time was a nigger with no legs laying on a bench with his wheelchair beside it, a nigger with a pitbull, another white rube family who got lost on the way to the race and a cop who was literally like "You need to get the fuck out of here. Follow me and don't stop." And he escorted us to white safety. It was creepy in an I Am Legend kind of way. Like you know there's all kind of freaks and monsters hiding out in these buildings, you just can't see them.

Any really hot days in the summer though it was always guaranteed there would be multiple shootings at night
