Has anyone watched this? It's kind of fucking depressing.

It's one of the best documentary movies ever made

Depressing, until you see he actually pulls it off in the end, with the movie he shows being implied to have gone over fairly well with the audience instead of a humiliating bomb. The slow reveal that he was actually Bill's friend and primary caretaker, and not a scumbag trying to pull one over on a demented old lunatic, is also a very pleasant turn.

It's bumming me out because he's so destructive in pursuit of his dream. And I have a stupid impossible dream too. And I have to reflect "have I hurt people just to get what I want?"

See I felt like it was the opposite; he was already kind of a burnout dipshit loser, who also just so happens to have random bursts of creativity and an ambition to pursue it before ultimately getting bored and quitting. That can be seen as depressing, but I feel like "depressing loser" was his default regardless.

It's my second time watching the movie so yes. I think he's doing what I do with melodica to keep my hand alive but with his brain. He was fucked.
