💯 Pat's lawyers probably instructed him to tell Sosnay that he'd take a debtor's exam and pay. Pat outside the courtroom beforehand was likely crying "WHYYYY DO I HAVE TO SAY THATTTTTTTTTT ITS NOT TRUE!" but then relented and told the lie in court.

Pawlowski took him at his word and accepted it.
